ESP-Mosaico factory firmware (ESP-Claw)
This is the factory application firmware for ESP-Mosaico, built on ESP-Claw, integrating AI Agent, touch screen applications, and onboard peripherals into a single interface. Suitable for the ESP32‑S31 version of ESP-Mosaico, version **0.5.0**.
Features
480×480 touchscreen interface, including applications such as weather, camera, gallery, settings, and Bluetooth audio.
ESP-Claw Agent Runtime, supporting dialogue, memory, skills, Lua extensions, and MCP capabilities.
Wi‑Fi provisioning, web configuration, and network service integration.
Adapted for onboard camera, audio, sensors, and NAND file storage.
Supports retained Recovery; after local necessary initialization succeeds, the new firmware launch is confirmed without waiting for network connection.
Hardware and Usage
Use an ESP32‑S31 ESP‑Mosaico development board equipped with 16 MiB Flash, PSRAM, a 480×480 touchscreen, and NAND storage, powered via USB.
After installation, the device boots to the Claw main interface by default. Tap application icons to use the camera, gallery, audio, settings, and other functions. Configure Wi‑Fi in Settings; online features such as AI and weather also require appropriate network and service configuration. AI model service credentials must be set up by the user; offline mode can use local functionality.
To reinstall the application, hold the top GPIO7 button and reset to enter Recovery, then follow the platform’s installation procedure. GPIO7 is the recovery entry, distinct from the ROM download button.
Installation and Compatibility
This platform firmware package includes the project partition table, Claw application, UI resources, and SYSTEM resources, targeting Recovery 0.2.0 or newer compatible versions, using a layout that reserves the first 2 MiB of the system region. Recovery and the bootloader are managed by the platform’s system‑firmware process and are not included in this application update package.
When updating an existing compatible Recovery, NVS, sysmeta, or NAND are not actively erased, nor are old‑version NVS configurations automatically migrated. For the first migration from an old layout, follow the full installation procedure of the project; a complete install will initialize NVS, sysmeta, and the boot selection. On first launch, the application may sync preset files provided with the firmware to NAND.
The application retains the original console and does not integrate the ESP‑Iris side of the application. After writing, the Iris tool may not receive application health messages; confirm the boot result by checking the device interface and performing a normal reboot thereafter.
